Productivity

I've decided to take some steps in my life to be more productive. I can't hope to be successful if I carry on like this.

This means less time:

  • On Facebook/Tumblr
  • Less hours wasted refreshing my Google Reader
And more time:
  • Reading
  • Writing down words I don't know the meanings of and looking up the definitions
  • Writing

AS module results tomorrow.

I think I may set up an anonymous blog. I'd like to be able to write more of what I want without having to worry about my family/teachers/possible future university tutors and employers could see.

On a happier note, I went to see my old English teacher today. She gave me her number and e-mail address and told me to drop her a text if I want any help. FO SHO.

I really need to sort my life out

I did quite an awful coursework essay. I'm really not pleased with it. Considering I would LOVE to do English at Oxford, the fact I handed it in knowing full well that it was shit was really not doing myself any favors.

Thank the flying spaghetti monster for redrafting.

Grace

'When I think more than I want to think
I do things I never should do
I drink much more than I ought to drink
Because it brings me back you...' - Lilac Wine

Buckley's version of it is my favourite

Totally stole this pic from my homegirl.

I had never listened to Jeff properly until this weekend. I used to believe it was impossible to have a favourite album. I can safely say that I now do, and I can't claim an album has ever 'changed my life' but Grace has definetely come the closest to it.

Incredibly haunting, beautiful, and simply perfect.

R.I.P Jeff.

I recently realised

how I live in a little bubble. A middle-class, liberal, stereotypical North London bubble.

who had this shit idea?

I neglect my blogger far too much.

Why is it that you're expected to know what you want to do by the time you are around 16?

I love learning. I hate school.

Englishness

I neglect you far too much Blogger.

Anyway, a rant.

I hate the way the far-right in the UK seems to have brainwashed society so much into feeling as though being proud of being English is a part of right-wing ideology.

By no means am I ethnically English, but I was born here, and have lived here my whole life, and i for one, am proud of that, and still a liberal (most definetely NOT a Liberal Democrat though!)

to quote Morrisey "England is mine, and it owes me a living." (The Smiths - Still Ill)
